Food chemistry lab seeking candidate with a chemistry background. This person needs to be well acquainted with standard organic and analytical techniques. Experience operating instruments and analytical spectra of IR, UV and GC. Food chemistry experience PREFERRED.

Minimal laboratory skills include: accurate weighing, pipeting and quantitative transfer of solutions and samples; ability to work with care around hazardous compounds, preparation of solutions; calculation of results; evaluation of the quality of results; operation of common lab equipment; basic troubleshooting of lab equipment.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. or B.A. in chemistry (or related field), and laboratory-related experience (preferably 6 months minimum).

Job Description:
This temporary position will report into a group responsible for both analytical methods development and sample testing in support of monoclonal antibody process development. The candidate should have a B.S. in chemistry, biology, biochemistry or other related area. He/she should have 2 to 5 years applicable analytical experience, including the performance or development of analytical methods utilized for analysis of proteins and/or antibodies. Pharmaceutical experience a must.

The qualified candidate will be well organized and dedicated. He/she will be detail oriented and capable of multi-tasking and prioritizing tasks. This position requires thorough and timely documentation in compliance with cGMPs and the ability to work as part of a team.

Job duties include, but are not limited to: analytical method execution and results reporting, experimental documentation, reagent preparation and testing, buffer/solution preparation, sample handling, data trending, and supply restocking

Analytical techniques may include ELISA, Abs280 and other total protein methods, PicoGreen dsDNA quantification, HPLC, and others.

Food testing laboratory seeking entry level microbiology technician. Perform food poisoning, ph and other analysis tests on sample. Ensure that media and materials are prepared for the next testing sequence. Prepare media and broth for use in pathogen testing as required. Sterilize materials needed for analysis. Autoclave plates before discarding. Pipette sample solution into tubes or plates according to the analysis being performed. Prepare sample for analysis by recording, weighing and blending. Read plates and tubes to determine the number of organisms in the sample. Perform other related tasks as needed.

Qualifications:
Degree in Microbiology/Biology preferred. Less than two years experience preferred. Availability to work some weekends required
